Caught by Young People

A strip of five phone-style food ads: a pavement poster for “Dragon’s Breath” smoky-spicy wings; a Sainsbury’s “Cracked it early” Cadbury egg promo (£2); a Pringles Burger King Chicken Royale can over a sandwich and crisps; a smiling man holding a Pepsi Max can on an orange background; and a hand holding a burger with a cheeky caption.
A five-panel collage of fast-food ads and meals: a KFC bus-stop poster for a "Wow Box" deal, a Pizza Hut promoted tweet for a My Box meal, a close-up of a crispy chicken sandwich on a red tray with sides, a mobile app promo screen with meal discounts, and a McDonald's spread with burgers, mozzarella dippers and drinks.
Four colorful food ads side-by-side: (1) festive Cheez‑It & Pringles holiday hamper promo with ribbons; (2) Popeyes loaded fries in an orange branded box; (3) donut deal “All these donuts for just £3.99” with a stack of donuts; (4) McDonald’s “New Spicy McCrispy” burger ad reading “Betray your go‑to.”

Since years of delays and pressure from Big Food, the UK’s new restrictions on junk food ads finally came into force on 5th January 2026.

The rules are supposed to stop junk food ads online at any time, and on TV and on-demand before 9pm. But there’s a problem: the restrictions have already been watered down, with loopholes that could still allow brands to target young people with unhealthy food marketing.

That’s why we need your help.

Keep a lookout for any junk food ads you see online, or on TV (including on-demand) between the hours of 5:30am and 9pm. If you spot one, snap a photo or screenshot and send it to us using the form below.

By sharing what you see, you’ll help us expose how young people are still being bombarded with junk food marketing even after the new rules came into force.

Together, we can show the Government that these restrictions don’t go far enough, and push for stronger action to protect our health.

Not sure what counts as junk food? Send it in anyway!

Our awesome Policy team is reviewing every submission and keeping a close eye on the brands trying to get around the rules.
