Want to work in a vibrant, dynamic and youth-driven organisation that is protecting children’s health by transforming the food system?
We’re looking for a Programmes Executive to join our growing team and help empower young people to take action, build confidence and create healthier food environments.
You’ll work closely with primary and secondary schools, young people, teachers and partners to deliver our programmes and help turn young people’s ideas into action.
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to help empower young people aged 8–16 to take action, build confidence and develop new skills through our youth-led programmes in schools.
As Programmes Executive, you’ll support our community of primary and secondary schools throughout the school year and help design and deliver Bite Back in Schools.
You’ll work directly with young people and teachers, support school visits and assemblies, help develop social action campaigns and make sure schools have a positive and engaging experience.
You’ll also support projects across Bite Back, including our collaboration with The School Food Project and major youth events and residentials.
What you’ll be doing
Delivering our programmes
You’ll help make Bite Back in Schools happen on the ground. This will include:
- Organising and attending school visits
- Meeting pupils and teachers
- Leading feedback sessions and focus groups
- Supporting young people to develop social action campaigns
- Coordinating and delivering school assemblies
- Supporting Bite Back Ambassadors with travel and logistics
- Delivering training and webinars
- Supporting participating primary schools throughout the school year
- Sharing brilliant examples of social action from across our school community.
Building relationships with schools
You’ll be a key point of contact for participating schools, helping teachers and young people get the most from the programme.
You’ll build strong relationships, gather feedback, support monitoring and evaluation and make sure schools have opportunities to connect directly with our team throughout the year.
Supporting projects and partnerships
You’ll also help coordinate our work with partners including Chefs in Schools, School Food Matters, The Food Foundation and Jamie Oliver’s Group.
You’ll support the national rollout of our primary programme and help turn what we’ve learned from our successful pilots into engaging assemblies and high-quality resources.
Helping deliver events
From youth events to residentials, you’ll help make sure everything runs smoothly.
That could include coordinating travel and accommodation, ordering resources, organising materials and supporting the team with event delivery.
Who we’re looking for
We know the “ideal candidate” doesn’t really exist. You don't need to tick every box.
We’re interested in what you can already bring to the role, as well as your potential to learn and develop.
You’ll ideally bring experience or skills in areas including:
- Building strong relationships with different stakeholders
- Organisation, project management and managing competing priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Working with young people and adults
- Creating engaging resources for young people
- Youth facilitation, workshops or training
- Presenting content or delivering assemblies
- Planning and coordinating events
- Public speaking — or a willingness to develop your confidence
- Travelling across England and Scotland occasionally.
It would also be great if you have
Experience working with schools, teachers or external partners; knowledge of CRM systems; digital content experience; an understanding of youth social action; experience with tools such as Canva; or an interest in campaigning, social justice, food and child health.
About Bite Back in Schools
Over the last four years, Bite Back has delivered our youth-led social action programme to more than 250 schools.
We’ve supported over 30,000 young people aged 11–15 to plan and deliver social action projects that put child health at the heart of their school food.
Following two successful primary school pilots and new funding, we’re now expanding the programme to a new cohort of primary schools in England from October 2026.

Where you’ll work
This role can be London-based, hybrid or remote within the UK.
Office-based colleagues are expected to work from our London office two days per week. Remote colleagues travel to our London HQ at least once a month, with travel to team days paid.
We particularly welcome applications from people based in or around London, the South East, the Midlands or the North West.

Tell us about a time you coordinated the practical delivery of an event, residential, project or activity, including how you managed logistics and responded to challenges.
