Young people changed the conversation.

Together, they proved that young people aren't just the future of food justice, they're leading it today.

Here's the impact they made.

Real change doesn't happen overnight. It happens when young people refuse to accept the status quo.

Throughout 2025, Bite Back's young activists challenged the power of Big Food, influenced decision-makers and helped create lasting change across the UK. Together, they proved that young people aren't just the future of food justice, they're leading it today.

After years of relentless campaigning, one of the biggest milestones finally arrived.

The UK Government confirmed new protections to limit junk food advertising online and on TV before 9pm, a change young people had been demanding for years.

But that victory didn't happen by chance.

Taking on Big Food

In one of our boldest campaigns yet, young activists took over 365 advertising spaces across London with one unforgettable message:

"We bought this ad space so the junk food giants couldn't."

Our award-winning Commercial Break campaign turned the advertising industry on its head, reclaiming public spaces usually dominated by junk food marketing.

The campaign captured national attention, generated millions of social media views and sparked conversations across the UK and beyond.

Because when young people speak up, people listen.

We deserve a healthy childhood but right now that's not our reality.

Creating change where it matters

The impact stretched far beyond headlines.

Empowering schools

More than 16,000 students took part in our Bite Back in Schools programme during 2025, giving young people the tools and confidence to improve food environments in their own schools.

Influencing policy

Young campaigners worked alongside councils, local authorities and national decision-makers to push for healthier food environments.

From presenting youth-led research in Oxfordshire to influencing healthier policies in Essex and Cheshire, young voices helped shape decisions that affect thousands of children.

Building a stronger movement

2025 also marked a new chapter for Bite Back.

With growing partnerships, new supporters and fresh leadership, we're building an even stronger movement that puts young people at the centre of creating a healthier future.

Your support is empowering young people around the world and protecting the health of a generation.
