Become A Bite Back Activist

A group of young people wearing black Bite Back jackets are stood on a patch of grass, smiling together.

Are you angry about inequality? Do you believe we can make the world a better place? Want to find like-minded people and make lifelong friends? If so, we’ve got an opportunity for you!

Our youth activist movement is growing, and stepping into Scotland for the first time. To help us make our mission louder, we are looking for passionate people aged 14-16 to join our movement, fight for their rights, and create positive change.

At Bite Back, we share our ideas and experiences, making sure the voices of young people are respected and heard. From writing workshops and craft sessions, to media and public speaking training, we offer ways for everyone to get involved.

And as a Bite Back activist, you’ll meet and make friends with other awesome young people, having fun while developing your skills as part of a national movement. Plus, it’s FREE — we cover all expenses!

So, are you ready to be part of a generation of change-makers, rising up to take social action? Apply now!

Tell Me More

If you’re selected for our Youth Board, you will be offered year-round training and support. All activists meet as a group three times a year — in the spring half-term, at our epic summer Residential, and our end-of-year party in December. In between these events, we’ll have online sessions, where you’ll learn how to make your voice heard, get expert training in leadership, campaigns and media and get great experience for your CV or UCAS applications.

This might involve:

  • Speaking with or writing for local media — newspapers, radio or television.
  • Meeting your local MP, mayor, councillors or business leaders.
  • Organising a stunt, petition or campaign to raise awareness of the issues you care about.
  • Making creative social media content to spread the word about your campaign.
  • Doing research into the food system in your local community.
  • Developing your skills including: communication, team building, leadership and writing, amongst many others
