Head of Policy and Research

At Bite Back, we’re taking on a food system stacked against young people. Every day, young people are targeted by junk food marketing that puts their health at risk.

We’re a youth-led movement driving change by:

  • Calling out harmful industry practices
  • Demanding better food standards
  • Empowering young people to lead the fight for change

We’ve expanded into Scotland and are growing our impact across the UK and beyond.

We’re committed to building a diverse team and especially welcome applications from people of colour, LGBTQ+ individuals, and disabled people.

  • Act as a spokesperson for research in media and policy settings

Policy Development

  • Lead development of policy positions across key and emerging issues

  • Advise internal teams and youth board on evidence and policy
  • Review outputs to ensure accuracy and impact

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Represent Bite Back in coalitions and partnerships
  • Deputise for the Director when needed

Leadership

  • Line manage key team members (Research Manager, Impact & Evaluation Manager)
  • Contribute to organisational leadership as part of the extended leadership team
  • Lead policy and research strategy for expansion into new regions and countries
