Charlotte's Story

I joined the Youth Board because young people are the future - but with obesity on the rise, causing life-changing damage to their bodies - it is an uncertain future.

If unhealthy food continues being more easily available than healthy food, it will prevent young people from having active, vibrant and long lives.

School food should set an example for healthy eating but instead they serve junk food as it’s cheaper and quicker to make as well as what young people are more likely to eat.

The youth voice of today is loud and proud and people are listening, so we should take this opportunity to change not only manufacturers, but also our own opinions on what we should be eating.

In my school we have something which we call “the diabetic waffle” it contains lumps of sugar both on top and inside and we feel like we will get diabetes if we eat too many plus they serve very little fruit and vegetables.
