#SaveOurStandards Update - A Bit of Good News!

Here’s a bit of good news for today! Over the weekend the Government made an announcement, which will improve the scrutiny that we have over trade deals, by strengthening their Trade and Agriculture Commission. This is off the back of so many of you emailing your MP and signing petitions that call on the government to uphold environmental, animal welfare, and health standards in trade deals. The petitions have now been signed by a whopping 2.65 million people altogether!

However, unfortunately they still haven’t got experts in public health, the environment or animal welfare on the top table of the Commission. And it’s still not powerful enough to make the Government really listen.

So it’s a good step forward but the Government isn't off the hook yet, and we know each  one of you will be holding them to account with us every step of the way. 

Here’s our message to the Government. Please share it now on social media to show your friends the progress of this campaign, and make sure that even with everything going on at the moment, this important issue doesn’t get forgotten.
